Kenya National and County Health Budget Analysis FY 2018/19

Published by the Kenya Ministry of Health, this report examines how Kenya's national and county governments allocated funds in fiscal year 2018/19 compared to the preceding two years. Overall, the findings indicate that both national and county governments are allocating more funds in absolute terms and increasing the public budgetary resources available to the health sector. However, most county health budgets are still below the required, post-devolution benchmark of 35 percent and, as donor funding continues to decline, counties require support to build their capacity to increase the proportion of their budgets allocated to health.
