Public Health Expenditures in Kenya: A Comparative Analysis of Seven Deep-Dive Counties, FY 2018/19

This public expenditure analysis examines the allocation and spending of county public health resources for the seven Kenyan counties supported by HP+ (Kilifi, Kisumu, Kitui, Migori, Mombasa, Nakuru, and Turkana). It assesses county public health expenditure patterns and how counties use their resources to deliver health services through (1) analyzing the sources of county health funding and county health budget allocations vis-a-vis their overall budget and (2) identifying inefficiencies in spending of both recurrent and development budgets.
